Olive Fleming Drane was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Since 1980 Valentine has clowned all over the world, working in schools, prisons, the streets, fairs and festivals - as well as in churches of all traditions. 

Valentine has studied Christianity and the Arts in San Francisco, and regularly visits the west coast of the USA to teach courses at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena. She is also a frequent visitor to Australia, and has experience of working in the non-western world.

She is featured as one of the world's leading Christian clowns in Janet Litherland's book 'Everything New and Who's Who in Clown Ministry' (Meriwether Press 1993).  She has recently studied for an MTh researching Sanctus 1 an emerging expression of church in the 21st century in the city centre of Manchester.
